Internet of Things (IoT)

Just attended my 1st webcast...broadcasted in New York at 12 PM...translated as 11 PM Jakarta time.

It still amazes me until now how the Internet makes this world seems to be...boundless...

Time...

Distance...

Countries...

These are no barriers to connect. To gather. To learn. To see literally the other side of the world in real time.

Well...speaking of Internet of Things (IoT)...you can check out my paper here

Let me think...

I mean during this whole Covide-19 crisis...I've come to realize how lucky we are to live in such an amazing time that we are currently in...

Internet has completely changed the way we live...

The way we work...

They way we shop...

The way we communicate...

The way we school...

They way we do business...

The way we live...everything...

Let me list all the resources out there:

#1 Google

#2 Coursera

#3 Udemy

#4 YouTube

#5 Whatsup

#6 Skype

#7 Microsoft Team

#8 Google Hangout

#9 Zoom

#10 Blogs

There are too many to count...

Internet has told us that we are all equal and can achieve anything. Boundless possibility awaits each of us.

YouTuber. Who would've thought that YouTubing would be a thing? That posting videos on YouTube could actually be considered as a real job? With real money? With real hustle?

Instagram. Again, who would've thought...being an Instagrammer could make money? That Ads are advertized through a medium for pics?

Online classes. Brick-and-mortar campuses are no requirement for anyone who wants to get a degree. These days...you could earn the same high quality education at a much cheaper price than going to attend the actual school?

We've always been told that real jobs are doctors...engineers...architects...physicists...vets...

But this is 2020.

This is the modern age.

This is the time where everything changes in a matter of seconds...

From the 1st iPhone...

iPhone 5s to iPhone X to iPhone SE 2020 (which by the way cheaper as they say compared to the previous generations).

I'm still loyal to my 5s anyway...ha ha ha...

Cellphones are everywhere.

Who would've thought that people are watching movies through Netflix, YouTube, Viu, HBO, Amazon TV...too many to count...

Who would've thought paper books are replaced with e-books?

Who still reads newspaper on an actual paper? We're headed digital, folks...

Gojek. Grab. These two ride-hailing services are changing the world...at least my life is a lot way easier.

It would have never occurred to my parents that these things were real.

I might add...

We have electricity (my mom used to tell me when she was a kid...she used lampu minyak tanah to study at night).

It's called Kerosene Lamp (I just googled this...ha ha)

Most important of all...we have Google providing us more knowledge in our fingertips than what our parents had in the past.

So...this is so incredible.

Still to this day, with all these inventions...I was still and will always be amazed at how technologically advanced humans can be.

Back to the topic of the Webcast...about Innovating through Covid-19...I guess...at the end of the day, this whole pandemic is not all gloomy. Not bleak future. Instead, there will be much more innovations coming our way.

Maybe after all...we don't need to really go to schools to study...

Maybe after all...most of our jobs can be done at home...

Maybe after all...we don't have to have face-to-face meetings...

Maybe after all...we don't need grocery shopping...

Maybe after all...all we need is to just open our cellphones and open whatever apps that suit our needs and just press the "button"...voila...

Everything is just a click away.

So I am really hoping this whole pandemic is over.

No more PSBB.

Things could get back to normal...

To the "New Normal" the experts say...

So...

Yeah...

Internet rules the world
